Reflections

I have come across amazing bloggers around the world here on WordPress. When I go through some posts, I cannot stop expressing myself how I felt while reading the post. When the blogger responds with a smile and lot of happiness, I often end up saying that I am just a mirror reflecting your Magic.

I was wondering about how much of it true and how much of me is actually reflecting to its best. Is it like a mirror or something else. There has a been time last year, when I was away for 6 months, since I had to take care of other things in life. I was confused, determined and busy. But if I was a mirror, my thoughts should reflect all the same, whichever situation I was in. That was not the case.

I wouldn’t reciprocate well during those times. If I had to post something I was not be able to complete it. I do not like to write about problems or rant about things. There is already too much of noise and I don’t want to add to it. So I took a break to introspect about myself.

I realized that I am not a mirror. I am not stable. I am fluid. I am like water. When I am flowing with purpose, I am not still. When I am with an agenda, I make my way through the hills, rocks, forests and valleys. I cut the soil and the soil cuts me. I do not reflect during these times. But when it is all done, I reach a state of calmness. It is still.

When I am still, I am like a mirror. I am like a water in pond. I am like the clean river flowing down the plains in clean rocks. When you look at me, you will find yourself. If you spread a smile, you get back one. If you are motivated, I resonate. If you are lovely, you get back love.

When I am in a state of complete silence and in a state of stillness, there is more to it than the eyes can meet. It is not just reflection, but reciprocation. When you see you through me, I help you through your thoughts. When you encounter me, I help you channelize your worries and find a reason, a hope to be happy. I show you way through the darkness, into the gleaming light of dawn.

I am a reflection, I reflect your magic.

  1. The paragraph where you begin the metaphor with the river, becomes poetic almost.. Will share two passage about water I have loved, one is from the novel, Anita Nair’s Ladies Coupe, check out the part of the Ebenezers, two, the preface to 40 rules of love by Elif Shafak.. beautiful.. tk Bhanu.

  2. Just reminded of the quote I came across after reading your post Bhanu.
‘Do you have the patience to wait until your mud settles and water is clear? Can you remain unmoving until the right action arises by itself?’ Lao Tzu~

The way you expressed and shared your thoughts will inspire readers. And making people inspire is a magic.

  5. Bhanu, very good work. Have you ever heard of the king of pop, Michael Jackson? You kind of look like him, before he changed colors, anyways it would be a great honor if you could review a few of my stories at Gastradamus, we talk about all types of issues and we want your opinion on there. This would really be helping me out. Keep on writing, you are very talented.

    • Thanks for the nomination and appreciation. I hope you can understand that I am trying to polish my blog and I am not so good at answering those questions. I will comment on few of them though.

Appreciate choosing to swim along 🙂

    • Yes, I read the post and then see the discussion in comment, before adding my points. If my points are already there, I like the comment or add to the comment.

There is a lot we can learn from the comments sometimes.

      Thanks for sharing your feedback.

  8. This was beautifully written. Being able to write and reflect others as well is wonderful but in times when needed it is important that one reflects who they are, in times of difficulties who we are reflects better then ever. I loved your analogy of being water, it goes deep.

    keep writing 🙂

  9. I agree on the ‘reflect your thoughts’ but not so much on being a mirror.. For a mirror is an abstract object and the change is only to deteriorate itself.. You are much more than a mirror..

You could absorb, ponder, develop or even crumble a thought.. So I would put it as your other example, water..

The water, which shapes itself to the form of the holding cup and which changes it’s temperature and usage on where it is.. 🙂

  10. Now that’s an interesting thing which you have mentioned.. But it’s true with everyone I think… If you are agitated or not calm not an iota of what’s been written gets in your head.. !
