Observation is the basic skill we acquire during childhood.
Interpretation is what we learn over time.
Conclusion is what we gain with acquaintance and by learning about the world and people.
But do we learn well ?
Are we lacking something in one of our basic skills ?
Here we go !
One of my friend says – He is surprised by the coincidence and the repetition of the coincidence that he now believes, that whenever his roommate sits down to eat, he gets a call on his mobile from his fiancee. How sweet !😄
As per him, everytime when they are having breakfast or dinner or for that matter having some snacks during an odd hour on a weekend or grabbing a sweet, there goes the ring on his roommates phone.
Now he says that his fiancee loves him so much that everytime she calls on such times. How lovely !💖 Sure indeed she might love him very much.
But he is missing a point here.
The number of times his roommate gets a call from his fiancee. The number of hours they are on call or calling each other. The number of times he is not with his roommate when she calls him. The number of times they are not talking to each other. The number of times he has food with his roommate. The timings when he has food.
The simple equation that they both talk to each other everytime during the same hours. Everytime she is just thinking about him and she calls him every once in a while she is free. His daily schedule that she is aware of and the free hours he can talk with her after office, coincides with the dinner times or before office hours.
Also the fact that he and his roommate prefer to eat together!
You see the observation is looking at some event in a particular fashion and arriving to a conclusion that it is a fact!
The interesting thing and something that should help to arrive to a conclusion is when – someone calls on an odd hour on an odd day after many weeks and gets bumped into finding the other person having food every single time ! Now that’s coincidence! May be love!
Serendipity is an underrated topic.
Affection is ignored when it is not seeked.
You observe. You validate. You cross-question. You affirm. You arrive to a conclusion. You then be free to allow yourself to reiterate the entire process and be open enough to arrive at an entirely new conclusion.
May your senses guide you!
